New Year Quilting Challenges: Barn Door Quilt-a-long at Sarah Quilts, including tutorials

I'm ready to start with this year's quilting challenges! The first challenge starts today and is Sarah's Barn Door Quilt-A-Long at Sarah Quilts:

Isn't it striking?! I fell in love with this quilt as soon as I saw it. 
And this is where we are starting, right from the middle of the hourglass!

 Non ti colpisce?! Io mi sono innamorata di questo quilt appena l'ho visto. E questo è il punto dal quale iniziamo, proprio il centro della clessidra!

As I've decided to join the Fabriholics Anonymous over at Rebecca's blog Making Rebecca Lynne (more about this fabric fast in another post...), I had a look at my stash and decided to use some Japanese fabrics. Here are a few photos of my fabric, all printed by Lecien:

    Ack! Every time someone posts a 2014 goal, I want to add it to my list of projects to make. I may need to make a resolution to make no more resolutions! ☺

    I love the quilt also. I saw the thumbnail on Freshly Pieced and just had to come over to see the lovely quilt. I am in awe of your lovely Japanese prints. They are very peaceful. Good luck with your quilt along!
